Generative AI represents a turning point in our society—for better or for worse. We’re talking about a subset of Artificial Intelligence in which machines create content in the form of text, code, images, videos, new processes, and even 3D structures. Generative AI is not new, as an analysis by the consulting firm Deloitte points out. Generative AI’s ability to create a convincing image (albeit of low quality and in grayscale) of a human face first emerged in 2014. Since then, the quality of what is generated by AI has increased exponentially.
